2014 Capital Campaign

Give a Future to the Past Capital Campaign

This year marks the 150th anniversary of the incorporation of the village of Orrville.  We believe that this is an appropriate time to reach out to the community, to request your financial support for the Give a Future to the Past Capital Campaign. Our goal is to raise a total of $150,000 for this 150th anniversary of Orrville.

The Orrville Historical Society is pleased to receive a matching Challenge Grant from the Wayne County Community Foundation (WCCF).  The WCCF grant will match every donation we receive, dollar for dollar, up to $25,000.  This is wonderful recognition of the role the Society plays in our community, and we hope to make the most of this opportunity.

The Orrville Historical Society owns and operates two important structures in the city: The Judge Smith Orr Homestead and the Orrville Historical Society Museum, formerly the Manhattan Restaurant.  The home of Judge Orr is truly the heart of Orrville – it serves to remind us of the virtues of innovative business leaders who have made Orrville a thriving community. These resources have enabled us to hold events such as the annual Third Grade Field Trip, Santa’s arrival at Home for the Holidays, Dress it like Downton, and our Civil War Event.

You are invited to make a tax-deductible gift to help ensure the Society continues to be a guardian of Orrville’s past, and a vibrant part of its present and future.  More information regarding our capital needs is found on the donation form below.  We hope that you will want to participate in this exciting project!  Please send your check to:
